Question
What counts as a positive signal in the 360° Watch — and can you plan for it?
The 360° Watch operates primarily as a modifier: its neutral position is 75/100 per theme, and findings adjust it up or down. Positive scores above 75 are possible but rare. EcoVadis monitors external public sources — news media, NGO reports, recognised certifications, industry endorsements — and an upward adjustment typically requires multiple credible, independent sources confirming positive ESG outcomes.
What qualifies: widely recognised sector sustainability awards confirmed in independent media; independently verified ESG certifications outside the standard criteria set; sustained positive coverage of specific initiatives across multiple independent outlets; verified impact data cited in credible external sources. What does not: marketing communications promoting a sustainable product range without independent verification, and press releases issued by the company itself. Articles by partners or NGOs may qualify if they reference specific, verifiable outcomes.
EcoVadis does not publish explicit criteria for positive 360° Watch scoring — which is why ESGIM does not advise planning or investing in it as a primary lever. The more reliable path remains strengthening the Policies, Measures and Reporting indicators.
